George` W. McBee

George W. McBee, 91, of Rushville, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023, at his residence. George was born February 22, 1932, to the late John W. and Phoebe J. White-McBee. He was a former Sargent in the United States Air Force, retired Maintenance Superintendent of Kal Kan Corporation of Columbus. He and Jeannette had resided in the area since 1987. He is survived by one daughter, Janet Rutter of Somerset; three grandchildren, Daneen Norris of Lancaster, Shawn (Kristina) Rutter of Somerset and Penny-Jo Thress of New Lexington; 9 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth McBee of Kentucky, and James McBee of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannette; a grandson, George W. Rutter; three brothers, Lewis, Troy and John McBee; four sisters, Hillima Bowser, Gertrude Penoski, Irene Thompson and Maxine Hershon. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023.
