Frank Edward Scurlock

Frank Edward Scurlock, 89, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care. Frank was born on December 15, 1935, in Shawnee, Ohio, to the late John and Mae (Helphrey) Scurlock. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1955, and joined the National Guard in 1953, proudly serving his country. He was honorably discharged on May 3, 1962. Frank served overseas for two years. He attended Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church and was a 50+ year member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge #76. Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Imelda (Long) Scurlock; his five children, Vanessa (Tom) Carpenter, Frank Scurlock, Jr., Theresa (Nate) Green, Lisa (Doug) Lentz, and Lorena Ruyf; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Cottrill; his brother, Alonzo "Stump" Scurlock; and two grandchildren, Elesa and Ryan Scurlock. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church, 3350 Moxahala Park Rd., Zanesville, Ohio where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Alice officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58. A reception will follow at the Somerset American Legion, 107 E.
