Floyd V. Miller, 91, of Somerset, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Bickford Assisted Living in Lancaster, Ohio. Floyd was born October 27, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late William and Mary (Lambert) Miller and was a graduate of North High School. He was a Korean Conflict Marine Corp veteran. After his service in the Marines, he met and married Laura Jeanne Clouse from Somerset, Ohio. They were married 58 years and raised four children. Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Floyd retired from Ohio Bell after 36 years of service. He had a passion for woodworking, running, biking and music. He was a social butterfly and never met a stranger. He is survived by his four children, Mary Margaret (Fred), David (Kathy), Michael (Theresa), and Tim (Marie); 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Barbara); many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his cat, Annabel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of this life, his wife Laura Jeanne; and two sisters, Polly and Dorothy. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery with Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 providing military honors.
