Dreama K. “Kathy” Baker, 67, of Somerset, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Kathy was born December 5, 1954, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Raymond Meade and Laura (Smith) Simmons. She was a graduate of South High School in Columbus, Ohio. She was a former custodian and bus driver for Northern Local School District and retired from Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. Kathy was “Jack of All Trades”, liking to sew, bake, gardening and even cutting hair. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Carl H. Baker; one son, Casey (Jennifer) Baker of Somerset; one daughter, Cassie (Shane) Stepp of Somerset, three grandsons, Chevy, Dalton, and Kenny; one sister, Sherry Brinager of West Virginia; and a stepbrother, John Simmons of Columbus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings. There will be a caring cremation at Kathy’s request with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
