Dorothy A. Turner, 84, of Somerset, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born in Zanesville, Ohio on August 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Rolland E. and Norma (Harden) Beard. She was a graduate of Somerset High School, a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and the Somerset United Methodist Church. Dorothy loved life and was involved in many groups. She was a member of TOPPS in Newark, and Perry Painters. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, and crafts of all kinds. But her biggest passion was mowing. She loved working in the yard and took great pride in keeping the place looking beautiful.
Dorothy is survived by her children, James A. “Jim” and Gloria Turner, Leslie “Ann” and Grey Pelkey, and Deborah R. and Doug Richards. She had five beautiful grandchildren, Dan and Jill Richards, Josh and Katie Pelkey, Amanda and Matt Faska, Ben and Alyssa Richards, and Cassie Richards; several nieces, nephews; one brother, Rolland Beard; and a bonus daughter, Amber Curry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Turner and a sister, Wanda Grossman.
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, services and interment will be private. Memorial gifts may be directed to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church c/o Michael Queen, 16100 St. Rt. 37 East, Corning, Ohio 43730.
