Donald E. White 91, of 4655 State Route 204, Mt. Perry, Ohio, died peacefully at his home on January 10, 2024. He was a retiree of Star Engineering, and a life-long resident of Perry County.
He was born September 18, 1932, in Perry County, the son of the late Forrest and Marie (Garey) White.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was inducted into the Army in 1952, and honorably discharged in 1954 with the rank of Technical Sergeant.
Don was an outgoing man with a great sense of humor, never missing a moment to joke, tease, or just entertain. He was an avid watcher of old western TV shows and movies, no matter how many times he'd seen them. He enjoyed planting a garden every year, and loved taking care of it, as well as his home and yard. He loved living in the country, and loved riding his Harley Davidson around the hills and valleys of Mt. Perry.
He is survived by 2 sons, Donald (Brenda) White, of Palm City, Florida, and James Michael White, of Mt. Perry, 3 grandchildren, Kristin (Andrew) White, Kelly (Matthew) Rightmire, and Natalie (Garry) Forth, all of Florida., 9 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Nellie (Browning) White, who passed away December, 2022; his son, Mark Richard White, who died in April, 2022, and 1 brother, Gerald White.
A private graveside service will be held in New Lexington Cemetery at a later date.
