Donald H. Nace, 87, of Junction City, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 23, 1936 in Lockbourne, Ohio, the son of the late Lewis C. and Bessie E. (Dilts) Nace. Don served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He proudly served as an officer of the American Legion Post #376 with the last title he held was Past Commander. Don was a proud member of the AMVETS Post #0342, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2505, Elks #509, Eagles #2070, The Forty & Eight and Moose Lodge #873. Don worked in multiple positions with Rushcreek Clay Co., Hamptons Transport, Tech star and in the oil fields until he retired at the age of 77 years. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Rita I. (Carney) Nace of the home; one daughter, Karen S. Enczi; special granddaughters, January (Chad) Beach, Megan (Jim) Friesner; grandchildren, Leda (Richie) White, Morgan Enczi, Riley (Clayton) Gardner; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two nieces, Kay (Dave) Stickdorn and Joyce (Bill) Barnett. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his daughter Mary Lynn Butcher; granddaughter Abby Butcher; seven brothers, Bob, Jim, Jerry, Chuck, and Bill Nace, Vic, Bruce and Thompson Turner; five sisters, Mary, Dorothy, Nell, Nancy Jo and Betty. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral home in Somerset. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Father Todd Lehigh officiating.
