Debra Jane (Bussey) Altier, 61, of Junction City, Ohio, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, of natural causes.
Debbie was born May 1, 1960, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Pearl Jean (Rucker) Bussey of Somerset and the late William A. Bussey. She grew up in Somerset, Ohio and was a graduate of Sheridan High School where she was an accomplished gymnast and cheerleader. She then went on to graduate from Pharmaceutical Technology School.
Debbie was a member of 4-H while growing up and loved competing her pony and horses at the Perry County Fair, as well as her many adventures riding the countryside. Her love of animals was unmeasurable. She enjoyed working with the public and meeting new people. She was always there with a helping hand to anyone in need.
Debbie is survived, in addition to her mother, by two sisters, Cindy Sue (Robert) Bell of Plain City and Kerri Lynn (Brian) Rhodes of Somerset; two brothers, William A. (Robin) Bussey of Chillicothe and David Robert Bussey of Newark; two stepsons, Tyler Altier and Evan Altier; and a longtime partner, Larry Rushing of Junction City; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also loved by Larry’s family, mother and father Jim and Jane Berry, Torie and Wayne Johnson, Lisa, Corinna and Jenny, and close friend Belinda Rogers, as well as many more.
She was preceded in death in addition to her father, by her son, Eric Mathew Bussey, and many beloved friends.
Friends may call from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating.
