Deborah L. Simpson, 69, of Thornville, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Genesis in Zanesville.
Debbie was born October 13, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Louise Catherine Clapsaddle Peterman of Burr Oak and the late Glen Edward Clapsaddle. She was a 1970 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a retired activities director for numerous nursing homes. She loved to do crafts of all kinds in her crafting room. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life.
She is survived in addition to her mother, by her husband, David Blair Simpson, whom she married June 20, 1970; one son, Patrick (Trina Marie) Simpson of Logan; one son-in-law, Shawn Cain of Rehoboth; three grandchildren, Nicole, Kaylee, Dailyn; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Karsyn, Oaklynn, and Owen; two brothers, Bud (Barb) Clapsaddle and Greg (JoAnn) Clapsaddle; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death in addition to her father, by a daughter, Holly Christine Cain.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Burial of the cremains will be held in New Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.
