David M. Ridenour, 83, of Glenford, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023, at his residence. Dave was born August 18, 1939, in Glenford, Ohio, the son of the late Paul F. and Marjorie J. (Watkins) Ridenour. He was a 1957 graduate of Glenford High School and an Army veteran. Dave was a life member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glenford where he was active in Sunday School teaching, church council, and he and Mary took care of the custodial work at the church. He was a founding member of the Northern Local Ministerial Association. Dave worked as a Civilian Electronics Tech at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base where he met his wife of 48 years. Dave is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth (Gambill) Ridenour of Glenford; one son, Barry (Darlene) Combs of Xenia; one brother, Jon (Patti) Ridenour of Thornville; one sister, Suzanne Barnhart of Thornville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joel Ridenour. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glenford with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
