David E. Mooter

David E. Mooter, 77, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at OSU Medical Center following a short illness. David was born March 27, 1943 in Somerset, Ohio, the son of the late Michael E. and Francis M. (Hammond) Mooter. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1961 and retired from Ludowici Roof Tile in 2005. He was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his wife, Mary K. (Deahl) Mooter, and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on February 19th of this year. He is also survived by three daughters, Missy (Rob) Kilbarger of New Lexington, Amy (Mike) Curnell of Pleasantville and Brenda Mooter of the home; three grandchildren, Nicole and Michael Curnell of Pleasantville and Jonathan Kilbarger of New Lexington; two sisters, Janice (Virgil) Smith and Penny (Don) Norris, both of New Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David C. Mooter; two brothers, Joe and Mike Mooter; and two sisters, Rita Mooter and Emma Quinn. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant.
