Obituary

Daniel Allen Mattis, 54, of Glenford, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born August 15, 1966 in Lancaster. Dan gave the Gift of Life as an organ donor. Dan attended Millersport High School and Lincoln Technical School in Nashville, TN. He owned and operated his own fire equipment business, DM Enterprises. Before starting DM Enterprises in 2007, he was an employee of WW Williams and All American Fire Equipment. He attended Hopewell United Methodist Church in Glenford; was a member of the Hopewell Township Fire Department; OAEVT member since 1992, director since 1994; served on the Perry County Fair Board; bowled in a league at Village Lanes in Thornville; and enjoyed camping with his family and friends. Dan is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Helser) Mattis; three children, Kaitlyn Anna Mattis, Broc (Kahley) Wilkins of Heath and Kelin (Sara) Wilkins of Lancaster; a sister, Joyce Mattis and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daney and Anna Mae (Brown) Mattis. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Highland Cemetery, Glenford with Clint Rhodes and Pastor Dave Helser officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Township Firefighters Association, P.O. Box 4, Glenford, Ohio 43739.
