Clifford Dale Wilson

Clifford Dale Wilson, 87, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Altercare of Somerset. Dale was born June 6, 1935, in Moxahala, Ohio to the late A.K. and Verna E. (Hammer) Wilson. He was a 1953 graduate of Somerset High School and was Baptist by faith. In 1990 he retired from teaching science which he had taught in many school systems, as well as coaching. Dale was previously the director of Children’s Services and was also the owner/operator of Wilson Implement. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Alice (Clemson) Wilson; two sons, John (Shirley) Wilson and Sam Wilson, both of Somerset; one daughter, Tammy Wilson of New Jersey; many foster children; seven grandchildren, Melissa, John Jr., Matthew, Hannah, Joseph, Sarah, and Jacob; four great grandchildren, Gracie, Ellie, Emma, and Jackson and one on the way; and two sisters, Beverly and Pam. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Somerset Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio with Pastor Robert Shaw and Dan Johnson officiating.
