Charles Marvin "Chuck" Wellman

Charles Marvin “Chuck” Wellman, 74, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away at 8:49 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at Kobacker House in Columbus. Chuck was born June 2, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Lucian G. and Willie Burgess Wellman. He was a Vietnam era Air Force veteran, a member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 and Firing Squad, a 30-year member of Hiram Lodge #18 F&AM and the Somerset Masonic Lodge #76 F&AM. He is survived by his daughter, Kristina Crane of Columbus; two grandsons, Hayden and Alec; two sisters, Marian “Sis” Clark of Vanceboro, NC and Linda (Dave) Wycuff of Grove City, Ohio; friend, Shirley Tiberi of Sunbury, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn “Ace” Wellman; and a brother-in-law, Dan Clark. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where Masonic services will be held at 5:45 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Somerset Cemetery with Pastor Paul Bishop officiating.
