Charles K. “Chuck” Paynter, 62, of Somerset, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home.
Chuck was born September 4, 1960, in Man, West Virginia, the son of the late Kelly Y. and Betty (Kilgore) Paynter. He worked for over 20 years as a clinical analyst, traveling all over the country. He was a “Jack of All Trades,”
and loved helping people, wanting nothing in return. Chuck actively participated in organizing the Somerset Christmas Parade. He loved his family including his pets; Sherlock, Jazper, Scar and Sylvester, camping, cooking, holidays (especially St. Patrick’s Day), and life in general.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Paynter, whom he married November 29, 2014; children, Stephanie Waite of Somerset, Jeremie (Jennifer) Tinto of Thornville, Bethaney (Nate) White of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kelly Paynter of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Teddy Paynter of Kentucky; two sisters, Debra Bailey and Donna Paynter, both of West Virginia; father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Donna Peters; sister-in-law, Leitha Paynter; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Kelly Paynter; three brothers, Tommy, Timmy, and Donald; and a sister, Tammy.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Philip Manning officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery.
