Cecil Dale Snider, 93, of Glenford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Cecil was born February 20, 1932, in Somerset, Ohio, to the late Mable (Baker) Daniels and Roy Snider. He was a stock car driver for most of his life, winning trophies and being inducted into the hall of fame in various states. Cecil was an avid dart-ball player for his church and loved so many things in his life including anything outdoors, traveling, his friends and family, and keeping his yard looking tip top. He really set the bar high when it came to keeping up with the Sniders’. Not only was he a pilar of the community, but he was also the definition of a true man of God.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie (John) Roberts of Newark; two grandsons, Michael (Tracy) Tom of Somerset and Anson (Jennifer) Tom of Newark; seven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 69 years, Maxine Snider; his son, Glenn Snider; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glenford, Ohio. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
