Our beloved mom, yiayia, sister, aunt, and friend, Billie Lou Pingledis, 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 14, 2025, at 12:05 PM. Born on Redbud Lane in Eastern Kentucky in 1948, the fifth of seven children to Clifton and Opal Luttrell, she went on to build a joyful and abundant life in Somerset, Ohio with her beloved husband of 31 years, Pete. It’s a beautiful coincidence for her to leave this world just as the Eastern Redbuds are in full bloom. She will be deeply missed by her seven children: Anna, Tom, Sherry, Phillip, Jennifer, Arianne, and Julia, as well as 18 grandchildren, 11.5 great grandchildren, and four sisters. She will also be lovingly remembered by countless other friends and loved ones, many of whom called her “Mom” or “Yiayia,” even if they weren’t family in the traditional sense. She found peace alongside her husband, her children, Elainia and John, her siblings, Buddy and Judy, and her parents. We mourn her loss with deep sorrow, while also celebrating her extraordinary life. Adored by all who met her, she was a beautiful soul with endless compassion for anyone who needed it. She both loved deeply and was deeply loved, and had a magical way of making others feel truly special. She will be remembered for her grit and grace, her infectious smile, her vibrant spirit, and her unwavering ability to always see the good in everyone and everything. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, April 16, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 17, at 10 AM at the Somerset Community Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio, followed by a private burial that afternoon at Roscoe Cemetery.
