Betty Ilene Williams, 97, of Glenford, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 13, 2025, at her residence, taking her final breath in the same home in which she was born.
Betty was born April 28, 1927, on a farm near Glass Rock, Ohio to Frank and Ada (Zartman) Denison. She graduated from Glenford High School in 1945. She married Robert Williams on May 26, 1947, and operated a dairy and beef farm alongside him for many years.
Betty was a lifelong faithful and active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and organist, communion steward, member of Women’s Society of Christian Service and Sunday School teacher. She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in school activities, 4-H events, sports and spending time with and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Barr of Baltimore and Barbara (John) Ulmer of Thornville; grandchildren, Rich (Susie) Barr, Chris (Shelley) Barr, Drs. Travis (Laura) Ulmer, Bethany (Jason) Barrera, and Treg (Courtney) Ulmer; great-grandchildren, Caden Barr, Raylee Barr, Brody and Kolie Barrera, Sophia and Luke Ulmer and Addie Jane, William, Elsie May and Wyatt Ulmer; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Lee Williams (Jan. 12, 2012); her son-in-law, Delmer Barr; her great-grandson, Tate Barrera; and her brother, Floyd Denison.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with a service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 11742 Gower Rd., Glenford, Ohio, with Pastor Victoria Burgoon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Glenford.
