Berneta Marie "Bunny" (Stimmel) Forgrave

Berneta Marie “Bunny” (Stimmel) Forgrave, 83, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Pickering House Hospice and Palliative Care. Bunny was born May 29, 1939, to the late Bernard and Gladys (Houston) Stimmel. She was a 1957 graduate of Glenford High School, attended Zion Reformed Church of Christ and Mt. Perry Presbyterian Church. She had been a cook in Northern Local School District for 23 years; was a 4-H advisor for the Madison Jr. Farmers 4-H Club; and a member of Sheridan Mother’s Club. Bunny enjoyed quilting, wallpapering, puzzles, attending family sporting events, and being a classroom monitor for Northern Local Schools. She loved watching grandchildren show animals at the Perry County Fair. Bunny was an excellent cook, and many of her recipes have been handed down through the family. She is survived by her children, Mike (Dawn) Forgrave, Dave (Kim) Forgrave, Bruce (LeAnn) Forgrave, Dennis (Lynne) Forgrave, Jeff Forgrave and Eric Forgrave; three siblings, Donna Wickensimer, Treva Danison, and Sue Hanna; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and two on the way; many nieces and nephews; an aunt, Florence Stimmel; an uncle, Mike Keckley; and a special friend, Rita Schmeltzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Davenport; siblings, Harold Stimmel, Bob Bell, Jenny Belle Stimmel, and Joann Yost; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Forgrave; a great granddaughter, Dorothy Forgrave; and the father of her six boys, Larry Forgrave. The family would like to thank Mt. Carmel East Neuro ICU and the Pickering House (FairHope Hospice) in Lancaster. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, at Mt. Perry Presbyterian Church with Pastor Chris Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Perry Cemetery.
