Barbara Ann (Kluk) Hupp, 97, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Barbara was born November 11, 1927, to George and Caroline (Stolarz) Kluk in Zanesville, Ohio. She was raised on a farm on the outskirts of Zanesville, surrounded by the love and companionship of her nine sisters. She graduated from St. Thomas High School in Zanesville in 1945. On November 10, 1956, Barbara married the love of her life, Lee Hupp, in Richmond, Indiana. Together, they built a life on their farm in Glenford, Ohio, where they raised six children. She worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and later for Archer Answering Service, but her most cherished role was that of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara was a hardworking farm wife who excelled in planting and maintaining large vegetable gardens, canning and freezing the harvest, milking cows, and assisting with the care of livestock and crops. She took immense pride in her children’s academic and athletic achievements and was especially proud that she and Lee put all six of their children through college. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset, Ohio, a member of the Somerset American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Farm Bureau Farm Council. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Hupp; her son, Martin Hupp; and her ten sisters. She is survived by her sister, Agnes Hewitt of Newark, Ohio; and her loving children, Jeff (Beth) Hupp of Katy, TX, Kim (Doug) Miller of Lake St. Louis, MO, Greg Hupp of Springfield, OH, Erin (John) Pakozdi of Morrow, OH and Teresa (Mark) Ulbrich of Zanesville, OH; 17 grandchildren, Craig and Gary Hupp, Marsha Balduf, Ryan, Stephanie, and Josh Miller, Emily Hanson, Nicholas, Zachary, and Sara Hupp, Jack, Justin, Peyton, and Nathan Pakozdi, Meagan and Brian Ulbrich, and Leanne Stanford; as well as 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Buckeye Hospice and the compassionate staff at Adams Lane Care Center for their exceptional care. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
