Barbara L. (Garey) Hoy

Barbara L. Hoy, 90, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away at 10:51 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Grant Medical Center. Barbara was born June 4, 1932, near Junction City, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Phyllis F. White Garey. She loved quilting, gardening, and taking trips. She was a member of the Patchwork Sisters, Somerset Extension, and R.S.V.P. She is survived by three daughters, Vikki and David Clark of Lancaster, Sheri and Red Howdyshell of New Lexington and Bobbi and Phil Wollenberg of New Lexington; a son, Mike Hutchison of New Lexington; grandchildren, Corey, Ryan, Wyatt, Jesse, Ashley, Jordan, Melanie and Dylan; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold and Betty Garey, Mick and Harriet Garey and Mike and Rosie Garey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul W. Hutchison and Max F. Hoy; and three brothers, Doug, Larry, and Dale Garey. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, in New Lexington Cemetery. There will be a celebration of Barbara's life following the graveside service at the New Lexington Elks.
