Arlene Ann (Mack) Hill, 83, of Glenford, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Arlene was born October 2, 1939, the daughter of the late James Vernon and Grace (Claggett) Mack. She was born and raised on her family’s dairy farm in Glenford, Ohio and was a 1957 graduate of Glenford High School. Arlene married the love of her life, Thomas J. Hill in 1958 in a double ceremony with her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald D. and Bea Mack. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Glenford and served as the librarian at Glenford Elementary School for 20 plus years. She loved her job, the students, and staff. Arlene loved going to the theatre. She loved being at the lake and celebrating the 4th of July with all of her friends and family. She loved her family so much. Arlene is survived by her two children, Stacy A. West of Glenford and Scott T. (Sharon) Hill of Thornville; her brother, Ron Mack of Granville; four grandchildren, Amber Smith, Lindsey (Scott) Everhart, Roxanne Smith and Isaac Hill; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Hill; son-in-law, Robert E. West Jr.; sister-in-law, Bea Mack; and her great-grandson, Karter Smith. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 12 noon with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating.
