Andrew Jerome Kessler, 52, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at his home.
Andrew was born June 22, 1970, in Middletown, NY to Donald Brown Kessler and Patricia Ann (Guest) Kessler. He attended and graduated from Chester High School in Chester, NY in 1988. His compassion in high school was his drums. He was a member of the jazz, concert, and marching bands. Andrew’s family moved to Ohio a few days after he graduated. He then enrolled in Paramedic and Business Management courses at Columbus State. Andrew worked as a retail store manager for Sears Hardware for 14 years and later worked at Blockbuster and Aaron Sales and Lease. Andrew gave a few local kids (as well as his son), drumming lessons and also coached soccer in Glenford for four years. He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Glenford.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christina (Taylor) Kessler of Somerset; one daughter, Skylar Taylor (Logan Morris) of Zanesville; one son, Ethan Kessler of Somerset; his mother, Patricia Kessler of Somerset; one brother, Scott Kessler (Theresa) of Reynoldsburg; his uncle, Barry Wiegand (Dana) of Gahanna; two God sisters, Donna Black of New York and Kerri Yankas-Vodra of NH; special close cousins, Kristen (Michael) Leggett of NC, and Rick Wiegand (Christy) of Gahanna; nephews, Brandon Kessler and Tanner Curry; nieces, Alyson Lewis and Katie Isles; great-nephew, Lance Stuck; mother-in-law, Renee Taylor; and brother-in-law, Jason Taylor (Heidi).
Andrew is preceded in death by his father, Donald Kessler; aunt, Lois Wiegand; grandparents, Alan and Pauline Guest and Walter and Myrtle Kessler; father-in-law, Robert Taylor; God parents, Johnnie and Ginny Yankas; and one grandchild, Taylor Morris.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 11742 Gower Rd., Glenford, Ohio, with Pastor Victoria Burgoon officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Perry Cemetery.
