Amelia (Zaccagni) Davis

Amelia Zaccagni Davis, 93, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Amelia was born August 20, 1929, in Fairmont, WV to Nicholas and Mary Martelli Zaccagni. She attended Fairmont State College and WVU where she earned a degree in Nursing. She was a retired Registered Nurse and practiced at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburg and WVU Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Amelia was one of the best moms ever! She raised 8 children, Mary Jennie (J.) of Glenford, Sally Hanawalt (Tony) of Johnstown, John Davis of Nelsonville, Jim Davis of Nelsonville, Tom Davis of Heath, Bill Davis of Heath, Claudia Guinther (Dennis) of London, OH and Tari Campbell of Stephenson, VA. She has 5 grandkids, Rebekah Jennie, Tim Hilditch, Jessie McGeehan, Katherine Davis and Nick Davis; 9 great grandkids, Aja Whelan, Drew Mayberry, Ian Mayberry, Emma McGeehan, Trevor Hilditch, Andrew Hilditch, Sadie Barnes, Cada Davis and Riley Davis; and one brother, Julio Zaccagni of Sugarland, TX. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband of 54 years, Harry F. Davis; sister, Renata Julian of Fairmont, WV; brother, Jill Zaccagni of Charlotte, NC. Amelia was a gourmet cook, excelling in Italian cuisine. There were many celebrations that took place around Amelia’s dining room table with lots of wonderful food, laughter, and love. Amelia enjoyed birdwatching, beach vacations, reading and doing needlepoint. She was also a whiz with crossword puzzles. She was kind, patient, wise and loving. If you met her, you loved her. She will be missed every day. Burial of her cremains will be held in West Virginia at a later date.
