Amber L. (Jeffers) Curry

Amber Curry, 64, of Thornville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Amber was born on April 28, 1961, in Athens, Ohio, the daughter of George Dale Jeffers, Sr. of Athens, Ohio and the late Susan M. (Power) Jeffers, who preceded her in death in 1988. Amber was a 1979 graduate of Sheridan High School and later earned her associate degree from Muskingum Area Technical College. She dedicated over 24 years of service working within local school systems and with Muskingum Valley ESC where many of her coworkers became lifelong friends. Amber was truly the backbone of her family. She was an avid quilter, fiercely loved her children and grandchildren, and was always the first person others could count on—selflessly making sure everyone else was taken care of before herself. She also had many special friends and greatly cherished the time she spent with her quilting ladies. In addition to her father, she is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Danny Curry Sr.; her sister, Andora (Thomas) Marshall of Pickerington; three children, Danny Curry Jr. (Sarah Thorne) of Somerset, Ohio, Donny Curry of Newark, Ohio, and Danielle Curry (Josh Beck) of South Carolina; grandchildren, Tanner Curry (Katelyn McCormick), Everett Curry, and Carmelle Curry; step-grandchildren, Rucker and Riley Beck; extended family members, including Alyx Wheeler, Naomi Thorne, and Lydia Thorne; and nieces, nephews and cousins who were very special to her.
