Alexander Wayne Snider, 21, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. Alex was born June 20, 2003, in Lancaster, Ohio, the son of Rena Shaffer and Tony Snider. He was a 2020 graduate of Sheridan High School. Alex loved working for Carvana and was very passionate about the work he provided. He talked about how he always strived for excellence with everything he did. Alex enjoyed spending time with family. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing, riding four wheelers, hiking, jeeping, and of course eating. Anything to spend time with his family. Alex had a great love for animals, and they loved him just at much. When he was younger, he would spend hours with his chickens. Chickens were not his only love, he also has several animals that have adopted him at home, his uncle, and his sisters. Chip, Pebbles, Rex, Turbo, Lucy, Sunny, Taz, and Ducky who have greeted him so eagerly and will greatly miss him. Alex is survived by his mother, Rena (Eddie) Moore; his father, Anthony “Tony” Snider; sisters, Allyson Snider (Kodey Graves) and Ashley Snider (Kenneth Showman); brother, Anthony “Charley” Snider; maternal grandmother, Mabel Anderson; paternal grandmother, Martie (Robert McDonald); uncles and aunts, Andrew “Uncle Andy” Anderson, Amy Chevalier, Tina Vansickle, Golden Shaffer Jr., Andrew Shaffer, Angela Juarez; nieces, “Ellie” Showman and Lydia Showman; and several cousins. Alex is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Golden Harold Shaffer Sr. and Ronald Hall. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, at Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, 8000 High Point Rd., Thornville, Ohio, with the Rev. Melodie Rezac officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
