Sydney Shianne Levan, 21, of Somerset, died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida while on vacation. Sydney was born September 3, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Kelly Joe and Teresa Rae Stevens Levan of Somerset. Sydney was a graduate of Sheridan High School. She was born with a congenital heart defect and although presented with many challenges in her young life, she was a fighter and fought until the end. Her kindness and loving spirit touched all that knew her. Sydney chose to live her life to the fullest with love and compassion rather than focus on the sadness of death. She faced more in her young life than many would encounter in a lifetime and took it all head on with love and compassion with no trace of bitterness in her loving soul. She was the teacher and we were her students on how you should live and love. Your job on this earth is done now our little angel. You will no longer face pain sweet girl. We will take the lessons you taught us for how to live our lives and stay strong for you. Be at peace Princess. Our deepest love for you is never ending. Surviving in addition to her parents are her grandparents, Charles and Mary Stevens, Randy and Becky Staley and Carl Wolfe; two brothers, Jeremy and Levi Levan; and sister, Danielle Levan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Heart Center. www.bopethomasfuneralhome.com
