Ruth I (Smith) Mechling

Ruth I. Mechling, 99, of Glenford, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at LanFair in Lancaster.
Ruth was born May 10, 1918 in Glenford, Ohio, the daughter of the late Davie and May Walser Smith.
She was a 1936 graduate of Glenford High School and a lifelong member of U.C. of Christ Church.
Ruth is survived by a son-in-law, Dr. David (Dorothy) Manke of Wisconsin; grandsons, Paul, Joel (Eve) and Jonathan (Niki) Manke; great-granddaughters, Scarlett, Audrey, Ellie and Olivia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ralph E. Mechling (July 30, 2006); a daughter, Sharon Manke; and a brother, Carl Smith.
No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Highland Cemetery, Glenford, Ohio with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating..
