Roy C. Noyes, 94, of Brownsville, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.
Roy was born December 16, 1924 in Glenford, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde and Jessie (Albert) Noyes. He was a member of St. Paul Church in Glenford, a WWII veteran, and a member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58. He served as an Ohio State Auxiliary Highway Patrol, and worked in the oil field retiring from Oxford Oil Co. Roy was the last remaining team member of the 1941 Glenford State Basketball Champions. He enjoyed coon hunting in his day and was an avid sports fan to the end.
Roy is survived by one son, Clifford (Lisa) Noyes; two grandsons, Ryan (Natalie) Noyes and Brandon (Julie) Noyes and two great-granddaughters, Rachel and Mabel, all of Glenford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Maxine; a brother, Edsel; sisters, Mildred Neal and Phyllis Crossan.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at St. Paul Church, St. Rt. 757, Glenford, Ohio with Pastor Paul Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
