Rosa Belle (Sluss) York

Rosa Belle York, 79, of Lancaster, formerly of Somerset, Ohio, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017 at her residence.
Rose was born May 23, 1938 in Warfield, KY, the daughter of the late Herbert and Martha Collier Sluss. She was a member of Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church. Rose, her husband and daughter had a Gospel Trio for many years, singing in the Ohio and Kentucky areas. She loved crocheting, playing guitar and solving puzzles.
Rose is survived by a daughter, M. Lynn (W. Michael) Riley of Thurston, Ohio; two sons, Timothy Mitchell (Ellen) York of Alsen, SD and David E. York of Lancaster; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Aileen, Barbara, June; and many church friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ervin P. York (2016) and a sister, Della.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Henry Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Community Gardens.
