Robert "Rob" West

Robert E. “Rob” West, Jr., 55, of Glenford, died suddenly on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his work due to a brief illness.
Rob was born June 8, 1962 in Columbus, the son of Phyllis West Parsons and the late Robert E. West, Sr.
He was raised in Glenford and was a 1981 graduate of Sheridan High School. He was well known for being a great athlete, but better known for being a great and loving husband, father and papal. His grandkids were his life. Rob was always a busy man running to football games, softball games and any other sports the grandkids participated in. If he ever had spare time, he loved to golf and ride his tractor around doing yard work.
In addition to his mother, Rob leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Stacy (Hill) West; his five daughters, Alicia West, Kenna West (Orrin Kunkler), Lindsey (Scott) Everhart, Roxanne (Jay) Smith and Amber Smith; eight grandchildren, Gavin Kirch, Landon Rodgers, Blaze Everhart, Laken Wilson, Blane Everhart, Zoa Dixon, Keira Shipley and Briar Kunkler; his mother-in-law, Arlene Hill; two brothers, Christopher (Beth) West and Joseph (Cynthia) West; one sister, Wendy (Sandra) West; brother-in-law, Scott (Sharon) Hill; seven nieces and nephews, Carrie West, Steven West, Hannah West, Olivia West, Isaac Hill, Georgia West and Erin West.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Tom Hill; and his best buddy/grandson, Karter Smith.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brownsville with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 724, New Lexington, Ohio 43764 in loving memory of Karter Smith, Robert E. West, Sr. and Tom Hill.
