Robert G. Hynus, 93, of Mount Perry, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at Grant Hospital in Columbus.
Robert was born July 15, 1925 in New Lexington, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde I. and Ida Estella Cannon Hynus. He was Methodist by Faith and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 and the AFL-CIO and Local Union #24. He retired in 1983 from Columbia-Portland Cement as a kiln operator after 36½ years.
Robert is survived by grandchildren, Shanna Hynus (Darin) Hively of Lancaster, Shane Hynus of The Plains and Tracy McKinney of Baltimore; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Vivianne, Dakota and Alec; a daughter-in-law, Gail Hynus of The Plains; a brother, Gene (Marcia) Hynus of Logan; and two step-sons, Lewis (Tricia) McKinney of Logansport, IN and Thomas (Lucien) McKinney of Richmond, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Jane Wilt Hynus and Thelma M. Hynus; three sons, Randi D., Richard L. and Robert Hynus; a sister, Mabel Satterfield; a brother, Jesse Wayne Hynus; and a step-son, William McKinney.
Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery.
