Mary Jane (Schmelzer) Clouse

Mary Jane (Schmelzer) Clouse, 86, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Brookdale, Marysville, OH. She was born May 27, 1931 in Bremen, Ohio, the daughter of the late Michael and Bertha (Mickey) Schmelzer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lancaster. Mary is survived by nine children, Nicholas Clouse, Paula (Marcus) Roberts, Christine (James) Blue, Timothy (Joann) Clouse, Susan (Art) Bennett, Carla (Don) McKimmy, David (Denise) Clouse, John (Lynn) Clouse, Catherine (Doug) Linzinmeir; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Phillip Schmelzer, Maurice (Jeanne) Schmelzer, and Christopher (Carrie Lou) Schmelzer; three sisters, Regina Shumaker, Patricia Weithman and Catherine (John) Westenbarger; three sisters-in-law, Jean Schmelzer, Margaret Schmelzer and April Schmelzer; and numerouse nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Joseph P. Clouse; an infant daughter; an infant sister, Rose; brothers, Edward, Mark, Michael, Jeremiah; and a brother-in-law, Charles Weithman. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant.
