Joseph A. King, 82, of Somerset, died at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House.
Joe entered into this world on December 14, 1935 to the late Joseph A. and Rosina (Bader) King. He was an Army veteran and retired from Modern Welding in Newark, Ohio.
Joe leaves behind his wife, Carolyn S. (Garich) King; and their legacy, a son, Michael J. (Jackie) King; a daughter, Lisa (Travis) Taylor; his grandchildren, Amber R. Brunn and her fiance’ Keith Frame, Ashley E. (Derrick) Farmer, Afton N. (Joe) Powell, Alexandre R. King, and Jourdan J. King and his fiance’ McKayla Shriner; great-grandchildren, Noah, Hunter, Avery and Gavin Frame, Lane and Presly Farmer, Korbyn and Harper Powell; and many nieces and nephews, all to cherish his memory.
Joe was greeted at Heaven’s gates, in addition to his parents, by his daughter, Erin, who passed away in 1963; two sisters, Miriam and Ruth; and a brother, Harold L. King.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 with Doug Oakes officiating. A cremation will follow at Joe’s request, and he will be laid to rest with his daughter Erin at a later date.
