John A. Miller, 83, of Mt. Perry, Ohio, died in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 4:45 p.m. from complications relating to heart failure. John leaves his wife of 59 years, Esther Miller; eleven children, Mintie Lynn (John) Troyer of Frankfort, OH, John Mark (Katie) Miller of Swanton, MD, Andrew James (Ida Mae) Miller of Mt. Perry, OH, Timothy Edward (Erma) Miller of Frankfort, OH, Philip Roy (Mary Kay) Miller of Mexico, Titus Paul (Sharon) Miller of Afton, OK, Joshua Henry (Edna Mae) Miller of Frankfort, OH, Regina Esther Miller of Mt. Perry, OH, Faith Talitha (Alton) Garber of Lincoln, MO, Thomas Allen (Carole) Miller of Leesburg, OH, and Caleb Levi (Dorcas) Miller of Somerset, OH; 56 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Joe and Mahlon; and 4 sisters, Martha, Mary, Sara Ann and Kathryn. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyliss, 5 brothers, Sam, Menno, Levi, Allan and Enos; and 4 sisters, Irene, Amanda, Edna and Bertha. John was born October 18, 1935 in Geauga County, OH to the late Andy R. and Sarah (Graber) Miller. He resided in Mt. Perry, Ohio for 53 years. He was ordained minister, October 3, 1966, and bishop at Calvary Bible Fellowship, on July 28, 1974 in which capacity he served until November 3, 2003. He loved his Saviour, family, church, community, many friends and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019 at Secrest Auditorium, 334 Shinnick St., Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Burial will be in the Mennonite Cemetery on Amish Ridge Rd.
