John Thomas “Johnny” Crossan, 86, of Somerset, died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence.
Johnny was born November 22, 1931 near Somerset, the son of the late Harry O. and Vera I. Ford Crossan. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and a member of the Somerset Lions Club where he specialized on the chicken barbecue pit crew. John was also a member of the Somerset United Methodist Church and the Somerset Masonic Lodge F&AM 76. He was a lifelong carpenter and worked for Johnny Brown Floors, Gutridge Bros. Construction and Tri-County Plumbing and Hardware. Johnny loved to fish.
Surviving are three sons and a daughter, John S. (Linda) Crossan of Somerset, Bradford S. (Nancy) Crossan of Somerset, Roger M. (Cindy) Crossan of Howard, OH, Marsha J. Crossan of Texas; one step-daughter, LaDeema Gallagher of Gahanna; one sister, Lucille Snider of Somerset; nine grandchildren, Beth, Scott, Sheri, Margie, Brian, Amber, Sabrina, Kevin, Jennifer; 26 greatgrandchildren; and one special niece, Kathy (Mike) Waugh of Somerset.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis A. Noyes Crossan (1989); and two grandchildren, Brett and Regina.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Somerset United Methodist Church with Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
