Jody T. (Tharp) Hendry

Jody Tharp Hendry, formerly of Hemlock, Ohio, passed away in Fort Myers, Florida, on Nov. 11, 2017.
Jody was born in Hemlock on June 1, 1924, to Harry and Alice Tharp, the youngest of four children. Jody loved life on the farm. She was graduated from Central High School and Ohio State University. While at Ohio State, she met Lloyd Hendry of Fort Myers, Florida. They were married on September 2, 1950, in New Straitsville, Ohio. Jody and Lloyd were married 63 years when he passed away in 2013. They lived extraordinary lives of family and public service. Her family still owns the Tharp Farm in Hemlock.
Jody is survived by her son Harry O. “Hank” Hendry and wife Laurel; daughter Mary Christine “Peach” Sonne and husband Ken; grandsons Alex Sonne, James Sonne and wife Stephanie, and Daniel Hendry, granddaughter Betsy Hendry; and great grandchildren Hannah Hendry and Jeremy Sonne. Jody is also survived by a sister, Mary Tharp Bope of Somerset, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Hemlock Community Church in Hemlock, Ohio, with a reception to follow at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Corning, Ohio.
