Janet Elaine Turner Schultz, 74, of Columbus, formerly of Perry County, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her residence following multiple stays at Mount Carmel East Hospital and various rehab facilities.
Janet was born December 28, 1942 in Preston County, WV, the daughter of the late John and Nancy Hayes Turner, who in 1948, relocated the family in Perry County.
Janet was an avid dog rescuer. She will be sadly missed by family and friends along with her Husky, Missy.
She is survived by three sons, David Howard (Rosemarie) and Byrdwin Howard (Caroline) of Somerset, Don Patterson (Beth) of Gahanna and one daughter, Cherae Howard of Columbus; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one granddaughter on the way; two sisters, Mary Ellen Turner of New Lexington and Nancy Turner Pettit (Jim) of Glenford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Donald R. Schultz, who passed away on January 6, 2012; and a sister, Ruth Ann Turner Friend.
Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 with Scott Pfettscher of Somerset Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
