James W. Patterson, 83, of New Reading, died at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
James was born August 17, 1934 in New Reading, Ohio, the son of the late John Howard and Marjorie Yvette Patterson. He was an avid gardener, golfer and card player. He loved his large family and listening to George Jones.
Surviving are his wife of over 40 years, Peggy A. Fannin Patterson of the home; 15 children, Ron, Kathy, Candy, Dianne, Tammy, Joanne, Sherlyn, Jimmy, Doug, Chad, Lisa, J.B., Billie, Greg and Laura; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Tom, Scott, Norman and Bob; and 4 sisters, Shirley, Norma, Judy and Jane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas; a grandson, Thomas; and 3 brothers, Joe, Don and John.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Somerset United Methodist Church, 139 E. Main St., Somerset, Ohio where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial will follow in New Reading Cemetery.
