Donald B. Dunn, 87, of Somerset, passed away at 4:09 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Carroll Place, Carroll, Ohio.
Don was born January 12, 1931 in Preston, WV, the son of the late James Spencer and Martha Jane Emerson Dunn.
He started working in a coal mine in Preston County, WV at the age of 17 for 4 or 5 years and then started hauling coal to the tipple. After moving to Ohio, he worked in Zanesville at Essex Wire and then to Newark Stove. He retired from Anchor Hocking Plant 1 in Lancaster, Ohio in 1986 after 30 years of service as a machinist. He attended church at the Roseville House of Prayer.
Don is survived by two daughters, Linda A. (Mike) Bussman of St. Peter, Minnesota and Michelle (Denny) Wronkowski of Wesley Chapel, Florida; two sons, Mike Dunn and Mark (Michelle) Dunn, both of Somerset; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Phyllis (Ronnie) Bell and Bonnie (Richard) Lerch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Dunn; his second wife, Shirley Dunn; a step-daughter, Connie Strawn; and a grandson, Shaun Bussman.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018
at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at Maple Grove Cemetery, 4185 Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd. NE, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
