Chase Edward Heath of Somerset, passed away at the age of 21 on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Chase was born March 6, 1996 in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Sheridan High School. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting deer and turkey with his Grandpa Heath near Warnock, Ohio. He also enjoyed helping his Grandpa Shonk on the family farm. During his school days, Chase was a member of 4-H, FFA, and National Honor Society. Chase was very athletic and enjoyed competing in several sports in high school where he formed lasting friendships. Chase’s heartwarming smile always brightened everyone’s day. Being the oldest of 18 grandchildren in the Shonk family, Chase often enjoyed entertaining his younger siblings and cousins by building hay forts and instilling a love of the outdoors. His younger cousins looked up to him as a role model. As recently described by a friend, "He was the best, and yet still so humble." Chase is survived by his parents, Curtis and Katrina Heath; his sisters, Emily and Katelyn; his brother, Connor; grandparents, Edward and Shirley Heath and John and Kathleen Shonk; aunts and uncles, Jill (Mike) Perkins, John Heath, Curtis and Karen (Conway) Shonk, Ryan and Jill (McComb) Shonk, John and April (Fox) Shonk, Daniel and Maria (Perea) Shonk, and Christopher Shonk; and his many cousins.
