Bonnie Jean Hursey, 86, of Glenford, passed away at 1:16 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare while in the care of Genesis Hospice, Zanesville, following a brief illness.
Bonnie was born October 19, 1930 on the farm in Jockey Hollow, Perry County, to the late Kenneth and Ruth (Dickson) Campbell. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Perry U.P. Church, and was a devoted wife, full time housewife, mother, Grandma and Grammy. She loved eating watermelon, watching her granddaughter play softball and all of the grandchildren participating in different sports.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Glen Hursey, whom she married August 26, 1951, a son, Gary (Connie) Hursey of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Ty (Denita) Hursey of Norwich, Ross (Kelsey) Hursey and Logan (Aaron) Bates of Zanesville, and Claire Hursey of Chickaloon, Alaska; three great-grandchildren, Easton, Jolene and Hayden; and a special niece, Nancy Paxton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Hursey (2014); and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold “Pete” and Maralou Campbell.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Mt. Perry United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bryon Bushong officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Perry Cemetery.
