Audrey F. Miller 95, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Somerset Altercare.
Audrey was born January 8, 1923 in Crooksville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Junie F. and Ada B. (McCauley) Pennington. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Somerset, a 1940 graduate of Somerset High School and the Meredith Business College. She went to work as a bookkeeper at Bintz Department Store in Zanesville then for Gene Dutro, was the last secretary at the Somerset High School and the first secretary for Northern Local School District. She worked 17 years for Underwood’s Hardware until the age of 70. Audrey loved traveling. Her travels included the United States as well as Italy. In 2006, she visited and walked on the Great Wall of China when she was 83 years old.
She is survived by her children, Doug (Bonnie) Miller of Somerset, and Gerry (Jack) Williams of Las Vegas, NV; grandsons, Mark Williams of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael (Chelsea Weisbarth) Williams of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Shelbey Williams of White Lake, MI, and Xavior and Zander Weisbarth of Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Gerald Miller, whom she married August 19, 1946, and who died in 1981 and an infant sister.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 with Pastor Jack Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Somerset Cemetery.
