Henrietta M. (Dorame) Hitchens

Henrietta M. Hitchens, 82, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Henrietta Dorame was born on July 4, 1941, to Miguel Dorame and Molly Avalos in Tularosa, New Mexico. In 1957, Henrietta met John Hitchens, who was stationed at White Sands Missile Base for the Air Force, and they were married that December. They went on to have five children, Theresa Hitchens, Donna (Chris) Hunter, David (Debbie) Hitchens, Michael Ann (Larry Chandler) King and Gina Marie Hitchens, who died shortly after birth. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Jacob Johnson, Justin Johnson, Kevin Hitchens, Crystal Hitchens, William Hitchens, Brandy Hitchens, Brianne King, Tyler King, Ryan King, Nicholas Hitchens-Spellman, Deja Hitchens, and Ashley Marie Hitchens. She is also survived by her sisters, Dolores Zamora, Martha Knight, and Mickey Groves. Henrietta was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; her two brothers, Henry Dorame and Tony Dorame; her sister, Ronnie McLain; and her grandson, Tyler King. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Andre’ Joseph LaCasse, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset is entrusted with the arrangements.
